But I wish it made more sense story-wise. It's more like 'and here we need to insert a dramatic event'. He hated the guy for his sister, and yet followed the orders for the long time? He knew what that guy was about, but he never saw it coming? Never warned Rook? If I remember it right - we don't have any extra options to throw Onef out, do we? Ekkil does speak a little about Onef when you allow him to stay, but it's not like you can change your mind and consider his warnings (which are not much like a warning per se, and which happen long before the betrayal itself).ĭon't get me wrong, I'm fine with the idea, that player character can potentially make bad decisions and face the consequences, but I don't see this episode as a logical part of the story. Why would he take Alette? Because he's Evil and wanted to screw Rook a little bit more?Įkkil's motives are even more unclear. If Onef had planned it from the start, why would he even talk about Varls and Menders? He could've just stabbed Rook, no chats needed for that. The moment itself is good - it has the right 'wtf?!!' impact on player, but I can't see much sense in it. Strategies and tactics aside, I think that this betrayal was not written too well. and not really in the mood to replay for the third time (not really in the mood to finish bellower the second time either, annoying prick that he is). Still I'm not clear on where the +-30 days go between chapter 3 and 4 though. Just suddenly struck me that we had one counter that didn't jump back in time when starting chapter 4 and thus explaining where our rations went.

However, that opens another can of worms I'll acknowledge. I was thinking they could solve it in next games by having just one counter yet having one party actively inform the player that they will be waiting at that point for another party to arrive- and then the swap. Funny that I was going to come back (after I'd found my comment again) to add that I now realise it might be deliberate. limit its supplies to a few days' worth only so that people can't buy. They should at least better explain the situation at the start of Ch4, or return any renown spent on supplies in the end of Ch2, or add the supplies bought to the 3 (minimum) days, or "lock" the market place e.g. They could amend this by having two separate day-counters, but obviously that breaks other things in the game's "event engine", and that's why they circumvented it. It is a weird choice is you ask me, and somewhat "weakly" supported by the dialogue at the start of Ch4, but I understand its usefulness. You've noticed that the day counter at Ch4 does not start after a fixed number of days from where you left it at Ch2, but starts right after the end of Ch3.

It was an option they made wanting to keep a single day-counter between the two different caravans, Hakon's and Rook's. However, I don't think this is strictly speaking a bug. But there is much more in store for them than finding a new comfort in each other.Aleonymous a écrit :Yeah, you always start Ch4 with 3 days of supplies. The sun may have ground to a halt in the sky, but their relationship is finally moving forward. Atla (female Mender original character)Ī disgraced Mender and a solitary Varl have joined to take bounties across Setterlund, using some of their gains to help villages defend themselves originally against bandits and the like, and now against the re-emerged Dredge threat.
